Falcons at the Ekka! What a day. We are chick handlers, patting of animal experts, looking at fish, painted goats, robot directors, esport players, butter churners, tractor and truck drivers and even wool sorters. And to top it all off we are the Education on Show Champion School for a 3rd year running!

Pizza Night at the Upper Brookfield Hall

We're halfway through the year, and it's time for another Pizza Night at Upper Brookfield Hall. A good excuse to leave the cooking to someone else and spend a Friday evening with the neighbours.

Both wood-fired ovens will be going, with sausage sizzles and grazing platters on offer too if you'd like something lighter. The bar opens at 6pm and food orders start from the same time.

NEW - Heaters are set up outside, so it's a comfortable evening whatever July brings.

It's an easy, relaxed evening, good to catch up with familiar faces, meet a few new ones and support the Hall along the way.

100 days brighter!
The Starlings also wondered about what they would do if they were 100.

We are all 100 days brighter!!

We are pleased to invite parents and carers to come and have a look at all our work!

The Bowerbirds earned all their eggs in the class nest and today got to do their baking! We made brownies and cheesy pizza scrolls (plus some plain scrolls for our friends who don’t eat cheese). Students worked together to make a plan considering our safety, hygiene and classroom logistics to get our food made. After that we used mathematical modelling to determine how many pieces we needed to slice our brownie into followed by how many scrolls we’d made to be able to share them fairly. We used arrays, multiplication and addition to help us decide to slice the brownie into 4 columns and 5 rows, allowing us to make 20 pieces. This meant we had enough for one slice each, including our friends who weren’t at school today. We realised that the scrolls wouldn’t keep as nicely so we found a way to share them between everyone at school. The class kindly offered to gift our 1 remaining brownie slice and 1 last scroll to Miss Melissa, who graciously accepted (having been assured the most stringent safety and hygiene processes had been followed!) What a fun afternoon of learning for all 🥰
