I get asked a lot — what’s the difference between tai chi and yoga? And honestly, they’re both great. But here’s what tai chi does that yoga just doesn’t.

Yoga holds a pose. Tai chi never stops moving. And that matters — because your body never stops moving either. Training stillness is one thing. Training how to move well, that’s something else.

The other thing — every single movement in tai chi has a martial application. When you’re doing a form, you’re not stretching. You’re learning to redirect force. That changes how you carry yourself. That changes how you respond when something comes at you — physically, or otherwise.

And for balance — there’s actually solid research on this. Tai chi outperforms yoga for fall prevention. Consistently. Because we train weight transfer constantly, not just standing on one leg.

Both have value. But if you want to move better for the rest of your life — come try a class.

A little movement.
A little breathing.
A chance to quiet the mind for an hour.

Sometimes that’s exactly what we need heading into a new week.
