3 questions the fertility awareness method can help you answer about your health and well-being.

1. Are you ovulating?
So important as ovulation is the main event of our cycle. Without it, you won't have a true menstruation.

2. When does your fertile window open?
Knowing this can help you understand whether the hormones are reaching sufficient levels for ovulation. And also for preventing and achieving pregnancy.

3. How long is your luteal phase?
This phase tells us so much! It tells us when our menstruation will start; tells us if we are pregnant; tells us if a pregnancy can be sustained.

🩸 What questions do you have about your cycle? 🩸 You can drop them in the comments or send me a private message!

5 Common Mistakes when learning the Fertility Awareness Method

1. Assuming you're infertile without checking and just relying on past cycle data.

2. Not practicing a specific method or only using some of the guidelines.

3. Using a prediction app - rhythm method.

5. Learning it all alone.

🩸 Did you find these helpful? 🩸

For me I thought I could learn it all by myself at first but it felt very overwhelming. I'm so glad that I ended up learning with and also became a certified instructor with

Another month, another chart!

This is what Non-Hormonal Birth Control for Preventing Pregnancy looks like.

I know! It looks complicated! And it looks like it takes a lot of work!

BUT it's really easy once you know what you're looking for!

I look at my cervical mucus DAILY! And measure my basal body temperature daily. I test the LH (Luteinising hormone) during the fertile phase. Although this month I didn't test my LH hormone long enough 🙊

A chart can give you insights into your health and not only into pregnancy prevention or achievement:

- Pre-ovulation and post-ovulation phases - with higher temperatures post-ovulation when progesterone is dominant and ovulation has happened.

- Rising estrogen levels - when you start noticing a change in cervical mucus to something that is more moist, stretchy, lubricative or egg-white.

- Fertile window opening and closing where pregnancy is possible.

- Luteal phase length - helps you predict when your period will come. Can vary 1-2 days but it shouldn't change too much.

- In this app - .your.body you can customise your charting to whatever you want. I also have sections for mood, activity, PMS, cervical position too.

- Temperature was taken with a device called - REALLY great gadget for measuring basal body temperature without a hassle.

This chart was one of my shorter charts (30 days) - estrogen started rising earlier than normal. This was a good reminder that we can't rely on past cycle data and each cycle is unique.

PMS is common but not normal. It does not have to happen!

You can have PMS-free cycles! Or cycles with minimal PMS.

REALLY, you can!

PMS is said to be caused by both estrogen and progesterone.
Too much estrogen can cause breast pain, fluid retention, irritability and headaches. Not making enough progesterone can cause mood symptoms.

Here are 4 tips for your PMS.

Do you notice that sometimes you're more capable of lifting heavier weights, running longer or exercising more than other times? Do you notice that sometimes you're more productive with your work than other times?

This is also related to where in your cycle you are.

Menstruation - time for us to REST! Strenuous exercises will be counter-productive and impact your PMS as well! At work, do the easier tasks on your to-do list.

Follicular - energy increasing. Add cardio-based exercises. Create new ideas, start fresh.

Ovulation - peak energy levels - high impact and endurance based exercises. Do the interviews, hold meetings and presentations.

Luteal - second half is time to slow down and prepare for menstruation. Go inwards again, get things done!

What Non-Hormonal Birth Control for Preventing Pregnancy looks like.

It looks more complicated than it is!

This is what charting every day leads to.

I consistently chart cervical mucus, Luteinising hormone test and Basal body temperature. Although this month I did not do LH testing.
