➕✖️➗➖Friday Faculty Focus - Maths! ➕✖️➗➖

Maths and Milo has been well attended this term, with many students benefiting from small group support sessions, particularly in the lead up to assessment tasks. These sessions have been led by Ms Morton and Ms Turner alongside the wider Mathematics faculty team.

Year 8 Numeracy Enrichment students have been collaborating in small groups to strengthen their multiplicative thinking skills and apply them across a range of contexts, including the 100 Club challenge.
This week, students in the Year 8 CAP classes also commenced the 4 week AMT Maths Challenge. Throughout the challenge, students will attempt six complex problems designed to enhance their problem solving abilities while also developing resilience and perseverance when tackling challenging tasks.

Spotlight on Year 7 Sport - Lawn Bowls!

Students were lucky enough to watch the professionals in action in the Warilla 4-a-side Competition today at Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club.

They were also able to watch a YouTube Livestream being filmed.

Special thanks to the wonderful coaches at the Club too, that volunteer their time and experience each week to teach the group!

🎓 Warilla High School Alumni Spotlight - Class of 2001🎓

Luke Unicomb is a proud Warilla High School alumni of 2001 who has built an impressive career as a leader in the global pharmaceutical and medical affairs sector.

Luke has developed extensive expertise across multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, neuroscience, and immunology. He currently serves in a senior leadership role at AstraZeneca, where he leads strategic initiatives across respiratory, immunology, and vaccine portfolios.

Throughout his career, Luke has held key positions with leading organisations such as Biogen, AbbVie, Abbott Laboratories, and Pfizer. His work has focused on clinical development, medical strategy, and bringing innovative therapies to patients, particularly in areas of high need such as cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.

A graduate of the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Pharmacology and Pathology, Luke is recognised for his strong leadership, strategic thinking, and commitment to improving patient outcomes.

We are proud to celebrate Luke’s achievements and his contribution to advancing healthcare and making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives.
