2023 season and the 24 hour.
The CHS racing season this year brought us some outstanding individual and team efforts as well as excellent learning opportunities and personal best performances…
We would like to highlight some the teams successes and use this opportunity to share our gratitude.
This season introduced our new community team comprising of students, old scholars, parents and staff and has brought our already unified team closer together.
The Murray Bridge weekend would not have been possible without the work of parents and students organising the new livery for the event. Special mention to Danny Watson and family, and Jacob for their generosity and support.
As always we share our pride, companionship and resources with the teams with whom we have worked so closely for the past few years at CHS racing. Special mention to Randal and Dave from Barossa racing and Lewy from Reload. Thanks for your support of our young people.
Our colleagues had a racing incident which unfortunately deemed the vehicle no longer fit for track during the Friday night practice and found members of our collective making repairs as directed by AIPP to ensure the safety of the riders. Some long hours well into the following morning and some hard work had a safe vehicle ready for the following days event.
We congratulate our first father and son team members for their work both on and off track during the event.
A standout performance from Tallan who rode for our community team. He got into the trike at 2:00am to keep the trike running when he noticed it sitting stationary… Tallan rode continuously making stops for food and water until 6:15am. Super effort!
Thanks to AIPP for their work through the scrutineering process, pit side post incident safety check and their efforts to respond to poor rider and spectator conduct throughout the event.
Thanks to our parent group for towing our resources to the event and helping to cook and clean during the event.
Thanks to the supporting staff from CHS who came to support the team as we worked toward a safe and successful outcome.
Thanks to the UniSA team for repairing our flat rear tyre on the start line moments prior to race. It was very generous of you to assist our young people in their moment of need.
Thanks to the teams that assisted us during the day including those who lent us a tyre to get back to pit. We hope to pay this generosity forward as we move into the 2024 season.
Thanks to our students who demonstrated perseverance and resilience as they competed as professionals in this Australian competition against primary schools, secondary schools and community organisations and thanks further still for the manner in which you represented Craigmore High School. You demonstrated our core values of success respect and creativity to an exceptional standard.
