By 2035, leadership will be noisier, faster and more distracted than ever. In that kind of world, presence becomes powerful.
Kylie Butler explores the shift from productivity to presence and why the leaders who learn to be genuinely there, to slow down and to choose a different way of being will have the greatest impact.

Cold mornings in the Barossa and a room full of leaders willing to be sharpened. That was Executive 18's second residential, four days together working on the things that shape how we lead.
The cohort worked through conflict management with Tim Dyer and the leadership challenge with John Jeffries, alongside sessions on staffing, coaching, and personal evangelism. Mornings started with Word and Worship and prayer partners before the day's work began, because formation always comes before function.
There's a particular kind of honesty that shows up when leaders sit together (in the Barossa cold), away from their calendars and their inboxes and let themselves be asked hard questions. Lead more like Jesus isn't a slogan; it shows up in how they lead their teams, handle conflict, and think about who they're raising up around them.
Grateful for every leader in this cohort who showed up ready to be shaped this residential. Onward to Residential 3.

In July, we ran a Team Management Systems (TMS) session with the Tearfund International Partnerships team.
This session provided a valuable opportunity to help the team members understand themselves and others better.
It was a time dedicated to helping them grow together and build the foundations for high performing teams.
Looking forward to the next time we partner together!
Thank you

Recently, Kylie had the privilege of connecting with Melinda Cousins, the Director of Ministries for Baptist Churches of SA and the NT.
Their conversation centered on the unique landscape of leadership, the challenges and the joys found in ministry.
A highlight was visiting the prayer room at their head office, starting and ending every day in prayer and praying over the churches in their states.

Leadership isn’t a technique you pick up. It’s a life you grow into. We want leaders who don’t just talk like Jesus, but lead like him too. Four days to go.

At eighteen, Nathan "Dubsy" Want had one plan: become a PE teacher. Ministry wasn't part of the picture.

But after he missed out on the course he wanted, he started volunteering at his church during his down time. That volunteering role eventually became an internship, and before long, God was asking him to do something that he hadn’t expected. Full-time ministry.

Nine years of youth ministry later, Dubsy could see what he couldn't back then: God had been shaping him for exactly this.

In 2018, Arrow's Emerging Leaders Program became another turning point, not just sharpening his leadership skills, but forming his identity as a leader who is first a son and disciple of Christ.

Now on staff at Arrow, Dubsy is passionate about helping leaders find that same sustainable foundation.

Before anyone leads anyone else, they need to be led themselves. That’s where formation starts, not with a title, but with being led more by Jesus. Five days until 2027 applications open for our Emerging & Executive Programs. 🕊️
