Meet Angela Eves!

Angela teaches Research & Insight, Brand Experience, Digital Marketing Strategy & Design Thinking at ICAT.

She studied marketing at University in the 90s and spent the last 20 years working firstly as a marketer and then as a marketing consultant for businesses such as Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Dyson, Fonterra, Goodman Fielder, iNova, Kimberly-Clark, Reckitt, Beiersdorf, Brown Forman, Penfolds, the list goes on!

Currently, Angela provides marketing consulting services to brands and marketing training for the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA).

Today Angela shares her insights on study options, career and the ICAT experience ⬇️⬇️

There is endless debate about whether a degree is worth the time and money or if you should dive right in and learn from doing. After all, it’s never been easier or cheaper to launch a business in the digital world we live in.

My perspective? A bachelor’s degree provides you with a really strong base of knowledge across core business subjects. This means that you can confidently enter your career of choice or run a successful business. It also opens your mind to other subject areas you may never have considered as a career but have the opportunity to explore as part of your degree.

Its probably best to let my students answer this!

In our classroom, I share my experience by engaging students in projects that marketers do every day in their careers. We avoid case studies and look at real brands, their success and failures and what we would do if we were the brand owners.

What I love about teaching at ICAT is that the focus isn’t solely on IQ and academic results. ICAT supports students in developing their creative thinking, curiosity, communication and emotional intelligence, all essential skills for career development and well-being.
