After a few years of rainy weather and restrictions it was lovely last night to be on the oval for our FGSHS Astronomy Night! We had a fairly big turn out and there was a real ‘buzz’ to the evening! Some attendees enjoyed pizza picnics whilst soaking up the atmosphere. Many Year 7 students and parents joined in enthusiastically (the night is organised around the Year 7 Astronomy Unit).

A BIG thank you to Mrs Hill for organising the event and Peter Allison President of The Brisbane Astronomical Society who lead the evening. Thanks to Jon Hall who set up our two school telescopes and kept them focused on points of interest on the night sky throughout the evening. The moon craters were very impressive through our scopes!
