Hospital aftercare can be an important bridge between veterinary treatment and returning home.

Medication schedules, controlled movement, wound care and close observation may all be required during this stage. At Gundy Park Equine, we work with owners and treating veterinarians to support the individual horse’s recovery plan.

Send us a DM to discuss surgery aftercare or rehabilitation support.

Thermal imaging does not diagnose an injury, but it can help identify temperature differences that deserve closer attention.

When used alongside hands-on assessment, veterinary findings and knowledge of the horse, it can provide another useful layer of information. It may also assist with monitoring changes during a program.

Concerned about how your horse is recovering or performing? Contact the Gundy Park Equine team.

Our ECB Salt Water Treadmill, complete with weight scales & heart rate monitor, allows us to control several parts of a horse’s session.

Water depth, belt speed and workload can be adjusted according to the individual horse and its current program. The equipment also provides useful information such as weight and heart-rate data, helping the team observe how the horse is responding.

It is one tool within a carefully managed rehabilitation or conditioning program.

What a cracking start to the breeding season at Gundy Park Equine!

Our first two babies are safely on the ground:

🐴 A sweet little grey So You Think c**t from a Poisir mare
🐴 A lovely Acrobat filly from a So You Think mare

With our first few dry mares already covered by 2 September, the season is well and truly underway.

The next arrivals are fast approaching, with foals due this month by Shinzo, Bivouac, State of Rest and Victor Ludorum. We cannot wait to meet them!

A rehabilitation program should change as the horse changes.

The work that suits a horse in the early stages may no longer be appropriate several weeks later. This is why regular assessment matters. It allows the workload, surfaces and therapies to be adjusted as the horse progresses.

There is no prize for rushing the process

When a horse arrives for rehabilitation, the information that comes with them matters.

Veterinary reports, scans, medication instructions, previous treatment and recent training history all help us understand the bigger picture. We then work with the treating veterinarian and owner to build a suitable program.

Good rehabilitation begins with good communication.
