SASS RECOGNITION WEEK // To wrap up SASS Recognition Week, we’re handing it over to our students! 🎥

Our Student Social Media Team has put together a special video sharing their perspective on the SASS staff who help make our school the place it is.

From the front office, sick bay, kitchens, science labs and library, to our grounds, classrooms and playgrounds, our SASS staff are always there to support, help, listen, organise, fix, encourage and keep things running behind the scenes.

This week, we’ve celebrated the many different roles our SASS staff play — but perhaps the best way to show what they mean to our school community is to hear it from our students.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing SASS staff for everything you do for our students and our school. We appreciate you, not just this week, but every day!

MODERN HISTORY // On Tuesday, our Year 10 Modern History elective class headed to the Australian Museum to take part in the "History and Heritage" program. Students explored the difference between history and heritage on a deeper level, learning directly from one of the Museum's own historians.

The highlight of the day was an escape-room style challenge, where teams had to interpret exhibits, decode clues and analyse artefacts around the museum to crack codes and be the first to open their case! It was a brilliant way for students to apply critical thinking and historical analysis skills in a hands-on setting.

The excursion tied in perfectly with our current classroom focus this term, which is exploring how museums curate and present history - giving students real-world insight into the choices and processes behind museum exhibits.

A fantastic day of learning, teamwork and a bit of friendly competition. Well done, Year 10!

8W STEM SUCCESS! // 8W students had an action-packed STEM incursion with the TAFE NSW Institute of Applied Technology, getting hands-on with coding, Sphero robots and some serious problem-solving!

Students put their engineering skills to the test in a LEGO Bridge Building Challenge, working collaboratively to design, build and improve their structures. 🧱🌉

The day also marked an exciting introduction to our LEGO League journey, giving students a taste of the challenges, creativity, teamwork and innovation that are ahead! 🤖💡

A fantastic day of coding, engineering, collaboration and creativity — and what a great way for 8W to kick off their STEM adventure!

A huge thank you to the team from TAFE NSW Institute of Applied Technology for inspiring our students and providing such engaging hands-on STEM experiences.

ROOSTER'S 9s RUGBY LEAGUE // Yesterday, our U15 boys Rugby League team competed in the Central Coast Rooster's 9s Rugby League Competition — and what a day it was for our Wyong High players!

Every player showed incredible courage, respect and determination, with an avalanche of tries scored throughout the day. While the boys didn’t quite make it through, they had a fantastic time, supported each other and represented our school with pride.

All the boys played the Wyong Way and made their school proud!

STUDENTS VOICES SHAPING THE FUTURE OF LEARNING // On Friday, Wyong High School students Liz and Chloe took the stage at the Telstra Innovation Centre Principal Forum as part of our engagement with Young Change Agents. They spoke passionately about both the benefits and concerns of AI in student learning, sharing their honest experiences and perspectives.

Mr Hill and Mr Knight who also attended were so proud of Liz and Chloe, who represented not just our school, but their generation of learners with confidence and integrity. Students from Wyong High continue to lead the way!

MULTI-SPORT DAY 2026 // Our amazing Learning Hub students had an incredible time at the 2026 Inclusive School Sport Multi-Sport Day at Niagara Park Stadium last Friday!

The students got stuck into Boccia, Touch Football, Basketball, AFL, Pickleball, Netball and NRL, showing enthusiasm, determination and a willingness to give everything a go!

We couldn’t be prouder of the way our students represented our school. They were polite, respectful, fantastic sports and enthusiastic participants throughout the day.

A huge WELL DONE to all of our students for getting involved, supporting each other and showing what an amazing group they are!

CELEBRATING OUR FUTURE TEACHERS 🌟 // What a wonderful morning celebrating the graduation of our Growing Great Teachers Cadets together with over 50 other cadets from across NSW, held at the magnificent Admiralty House as guests of Her Excellency the Governor-General of Australia.

We were honoured to celebrate alongside Deb Summerhayes PSM, Deputy Minister for Education, representatives from the University of Newcastle, University of Wollongong and Western Sydney University, Training Services NSW and Creating Chances.

We were especially proud to see four students from Wyong High School among this year's graduating Teacher Cadets. 🎓

For Wyong High School, this celebration has an even deeper significance. In 2019, we advocated for an SBAT pathway with Creating Chances. Since then, we have been fortunate to have a School-Based Trainee every year, with the program now growing to provide employment opportunities for around 30 students across the state annually.

This year was particularly special, with one of our students completing both the GGT Teacher Cadet program and an SBAT with Creating Chances - two distinct pathways coming together to create a powerful transition from school towards further education, employment and a future in teaching.

We are incredibly proud of the role Wyong High School has played in advocating for meaningful pathways for young people, and even prouder to see how that original idea from 2019 has grown.

Congratulations to our four GGT graduates! We can't wait to see the difference you make in classrooms and communities across NSW! 🍎📚✨

To our wonderful SASS team — thank you!

So much of what you do happens quietly behind the scenes, but the impact of your work is felt across our school every single day. Whether you’re supporting a student, helping a colleague, solving a problem, keeping things organised, lending a hand, sharing a kind word or simply being there when someone needs you — you make a difference.

Your dedication, care, hard work and willingness to support others never goes unnoticed. Every member of our SASS team brings something special to our school, and together you make an enormous contribution to the lives of our students, staff and wider school community.

This SASS Week, we want you to know that you are seen, you are valued and you are appreciated. Your work matters. Your contribution matters. And the difference you make matters.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such an amazing team.

BOOK WEEK 2026 – A SYMPHONY OF STORIES // What a wonderful celebration of books, stories and creativity we've had!

Our staff embraced this year’s “Symphony of Stories” theme, bringing our school to life with imaginative faculty door decorations, creative costumes and plenty of bookish spirit. From favourite characters to stories bursting out of classrooms, there was something wonderful around every corner.

Just like a symphony, it was the many individual contributions that came together to create something special. A huge thank you to everyone who joined in, got creative and helped make Book Week such a memorable part of our school year.

And a special thank you to Mrs Read for bringing it all together and reminding us of the joy, imagination and connection that great stories can create.
