I love Dane Lennon 's quote about Robots vs Drones...

“We’re the eagles and the robots are the rabbits on the ground,”

Hey guys! Another year lays ahead of us and, with it, the opportunity to continue our exciting project and development of UAV's.

We have decided to break the club into those interested in racing/flying their own personal drones internal to JCU, and those interested in working on the larger project for the (OBC). These are not mutually exclusive teams (i.e. you can be involved in both).

JCUAV Club (for racing/comps/etc) organiser: Lizzy Peers Beifong

JCUAV OBC Team Project Manager: Dane Lennon
Autopilot specialist: Innes Uys
Frame Team Ldrs: Adam Packer, Andrew Brown

We are now asking for nominations for the OBC positions for the following (noting that being apart of this project will build your networking within the exciting industry of UAVs as well as develop your technical skills, all which looks great on your resume):

Systems Specialist: Control systems design and integration
Comms Specialists: Long range radio comms and networking
Imaging Specialists: Embedded systems processing, geo location and image recognition

Please message me if you have any questions regarding the above positions and I look forward to hearing from you.

Broke a prop arm? Cracked the frame? Destroyed the whole thing? No problem!

Just 3D print the lot! Saw this display in JayCar Townsville

First flight test of the prototype. Little shaky but very promising. Very excited to see it flying properly. A very big thanks to , and for their support during the day.
