The BUSY School Townsville Campus students recently took part in First Aid and CPR training with Rob from Connect n Grow, building practical skills they'll be able to use both in the workplace and everyday life.

From learning how to respond in an emergency to gaining the confidence to put those skills into action, students embraced every part of the training and came away with valuable knowledge for the future.

A work experience win 🌼

The BUSY School Townsville Campus Year 11 student, Tahlia, has secured a school-based childcare traineeship with Unique Unicorns Childcare Centre.

With support from Venture Training, Tahlia was given the opportunity to complete a few days of work experience with the centre. She made such a great impression that the team offered her a school-based traineeship, turning a work experience opportunity into the start of an exciting career journey.

Celebrating the Official Opening of The BUSY School Townsville Campus 💛

Our BUSY School Townsville student leaders welcomed Queensland Minister for Education The Hon. John-Paul Langbroek MP, Member for Townsville Adam Baillie MP and State Member for Mundingburra Janelle Poole to our campus on Tuesday to celebrate our official opening.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything the campus has already achieved and recognise the students, staff, partners and community members who continue to support our young people as they complete Years 11 and 12 and prepare for what comes next.

Our Townsville campus is the 10th BUSY School in Queensland, and we are now exporting our homegrown alternative education model to the world, with schools in New Zealand, Wales and England, and our first Canadian campus opening in Calgary, Alberta next month.

A bright future in early childhood 🚀

The BUSY School Townsville Campus Year 11 student, Sibella, has officially started a school-based childcare traineeship with Imagine Child Care Centre.

With the support of Aurora Training, Sibella is now gaining hands-on experience in a real early learning environment while continuing her studies. It's an exciting opportunity to build practical experience and take the first steps towards a career in early childhood education.

The BUSY School Townsville Campus Year 11 student, Cooper, has officially started a school-based Information Technology traineeship with Techheaven.

After spending time with the team on work experience, Cooper's enthusiasm and strong work ethic quickly stood out. It wasn't long before Techheaven offered him a traineeship, giving him the opportunity to continue learning on the job while completing his studies.

Workshop days well spent 🔧

The BUSY School Townsville Campus students Daniel (Year 12) and Sienna (Year 11) have been gaining real-world experience in local mechanical workshops, putting their interest in the industry into practice.

Daniel has been spending time with Western Truck Group, while Sienna has been out on work experience with Automotive Obsession. Both have had the chance to experience day-to-day workshop life, learn from experienced professionals and see what a career in the industry is really like.

Cooking up something exciting 👨‍🍳

The BUSY School Townsville Campus Year 12 student, Ethan, has secured a school-based chef apprenticeship with The Avenues Tavern, turning his passion for hospitality into a fantastic career opportunity.

After meeting Ethan in his interview, Paul, Head Chef at The Avenues Tavern, knew he was the right fit for the team. Ethan will now gain hands-on experience in a real commercial kitchen while building the skills and knowledge to support his future career as a chef.
