An amazing start to a fulfilling career by one of our newest participants :)
After starting his career as a Deadly Start trainee, Bevan is now working full-time in healthcare. 🏥🩺
Having turned his traineeship into a career, Bevan is making his mark as a dental assistant at Townsville Hospital and Health Service.
“The program opened my eyes to the possibilities in healthcare and gave me the chance to help make healthcare more accessible for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people,” Bevan said.
Now it’s your turn! Expressions of Interest are open for the 2026 Deadly Start program for students starting year 11 next year:
• Start your traineeship in Year 11
• Gain a Certificate II in Health Support Services
• Continue into a Certificate III traineeship with hands-on experience
• Be supported with cultural mentorship and guidance every step of the way

We can help find and contact approved training organisations to help you succeed in your chosen study fields and have a range of Certificate II and Certificate III courses for you to explore!
