Science Week!! 🌱

23/08/2026

📚✨ Book Week is here! ✨📚

We’re looking forward to a fun week celebrating books, stories and reading at St Michael’s!

📖 A reminder for Friday’s Book Week Character Parade: students will be making their costumes at school in class. There is no need for families to send costumes from home. 😊

Families are warmly invited to come along and enjoy the parade at 9:30am on Friday. We can’t wait to see the creative characters our students bring to life! 🌟

We’ll also finish the week with Liturgy and Assembly from 1:40–2:30pm. Everyone welcome.

See you at the parade! 📚💫

Last week was a week full of learning, creativity and positive messages as we celebrated National Science Week and Bullying No Way: Week of Action!

Our students got hands-on with science through 🚀 rocket experiments, 🥛 magic milk, 🫧 slime, 🌈making rainbows, 🌸 ‘expanding paper flowers’ and a Seed Science Expo. 🌱

Alongside the science fun, students proudly wore purple ribbons, shared anti-bullying messages and took the lead in spreading messages of kindness, respect, inclusion and looking out for one another. 💜

We loved seeing our students take initiative and use their voices to help make our school a safe, welcoming and respectful place for everyone. 🌟

What a special day at St Michael’s! ✝️💙

We were blessed to welcome all five of Queensland’s Bishops to Palm Island for a beautiful Faith Rising Mass at St Anthony’s Church.

Our students, staff and Elders came together in faith, culture and community, sharing in Mass and a special cultural dance.

It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome Bishop Tim Harris, Bishop Joe Caddy, Bishop Danny Meagher, Bishop Ken Howell and Archbishop Shane Mackinlay to Palm Island.

Thank you for spending this special day with us! 🙏🏽💙

❄️ Missing a winter wardrobe?❄️

If your child has been missing a jumper, jacket or other winter clothes, there’s a good chance they might be hiding somewhere in this pile! 😅

Our lost property is currently in Office Reception. Come in and have a look to see if you can spot anything belonging to your child.

Anything unclaimed will be donated to the op shop this Friday, so don’t miss out! 👕🧥

🌟 Friday Liturgy & Assembly 🌟

A wonderful way to finish the week! We celebrated our Student of the Week, Sportsmanship and Attendance award winners, our August birthdays, and gave special recognition to our Red Track athletes - including those who were away and not pictured.

A big thank you to our Year 6 students for leading our liturgy and assembly and speaking so confidently. ⭐️👏🏽

🎨 Check out some of our awesome artwork! These creative pieces were recently displayed at the Youth Festival. A big thank you to Therese for supporting our students to create and prepare their artwork. 🖌️✨
