Casual Support Workers Wanted!

Due to an increase in clients, TEIA is on the hunt for compassionate, reliable, and fun Support Workers to join our growing team!

As a Support Worker, you'll be helping people with disabilities live their best lives through community access, skill development, personal support, and meaningful social connections. No two days are the same – one day you could be supporting someone to attend appointments, and the next you could be fishing, grabbing a coffee, hitting the gym, or helping them achieve their personal goals.

What we're looking for:

✔ A positive and caring attitude
✔ Excellent communication skills
✔ Reliability and professionalism
✔ A current Driver's Licence and reliable insured vehicle
✔ Current Blue Card and Yellow Card (or willingness to obtain)
✔ Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

💜 Meet the Team – Tahlia Williams 💜

We’re excited to introduce here at TEIA, Tahlia Williams - our Operations Manager.

Behind the scenes at TEIA, Tahlia keeps the wheels turning. From team support and compliance to rostering, finance, HR and day-to-day operations, she’s the organised chaos coordinator making sure everything runs smoothly for both our staff and participants.

How long have you been in the industry?
"6 Years next week! I started at TEIA as a support worker and I moved into a management role in 2022."

What do you enjoy most about your role?
"I enjoy the problem solving and compliance in my role."

What is your favourite part about working at TEIA?
"Definitely our team, we have fostered such a great work environment here at TEIA and our staff retention and longevity reflects that."

Fun fact about you:
"I have a 17 month old toddler running rings around me at home and I also co-founded a clothing business called Hot Mess Threads"

Favourite place in Townsville:
"Wherever my family is."

At TEIA, we’re passionate about sharing tools and resources that can support wellbeing, emotional health and everyday life. One great resource is myCompass by Black Dog Institute. They are a free online self-help program designed to help people manage stress, anxiety and low moods through interactive learning and practical strategies.

Last week we celebrated 6 incredible years of TEIA 💚🎂

What started as a vision to provide genuine support and make a difference in people’s lives has grown into something we are so proud of. Over the last 6 years, we’ve built an amazing community of participants, families, support workers, coordinators and management who all play such an important role in what TEIA is today.

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible team. Your compassion, dedication, hard work and commitment never go unnoticed. The care and support you provide every single day is the heart of TEIA, and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

To our participants, families and community, thank you for trusting us to walk alongside you. Your support over the years means everything.
