Our Kindy and Pre-Kindy friends shared in a special story time this week for book week!
One of our friends Nana’s wrote her very own story called Eric the Echnida Lost His Spikes. A story about Eric as he travels and talks to his friends after losing his spikes, and they help him get them back.
The story is about someone who had Cancer and lost their hair (their spikes) and with the help of their friends and family they are better and their hair has grown back.
We were so incredibly lucky to have Deb come in and read us this special story.
She also shared with the children about the process of writing a book, and spoke about choosing all the aspects, including the paper, illustrations and final drafts. She also showed us the first draft of her book, and the sampler book from before it was published, as well as a teddy of Eric the Echidna. Thank you again Deb for spending the morning with us and sharing this special story!
