Sometimes the most rewarding part of a wedding day is seeing months of planning come together, with all the tiny decisions and all the intricate details finally falling into place. ✨

Mother’s Day always feels a little extra special to me. So much of what I do is centred around mothers. The way they love, the way they hold their families together, the way their little ones instinctively turn to them for comfort and safety. I feel genuinely privileged to be trusted to document so many incredible mums, to step into their homes and their stories, and to capture the love that lives in the in‑between moments. This weekend is a beautiful reminder of just how meaningful that honour really is.

With Mother’s Day coming up this weekend, it felt like the perfect moment to share this beautiful family session. Bridie is a local photographer I’ve worked alongside, and being trusted to document her family in their own home was something truly special 🍂

The most beautiful location for such an epic couple ✨

I have been photographing Daniel and Holly for years, long before wedding planning and even before their beautiful little boy arrived. Watching their story unfold through every milestone has been such a privilege, and I felt genuinely honoured to capture their wedding day. ✨
Their celebration at Cow Bell Creek was the perfect setting for it all. Tucked away in the Gold Coast Hinterland on a 200 acre working Highland farm, the day began with heavy rain, but the clouds lifted to reveal the softest afternoon sunset, he kind that makes the whole place glow.

I love when a wedding reflects who the bride and groom really are. Caitlyn & Elisha’s day was so uniquely them. They chose not to have a bridal party and focus just on the two of them, soaking in every moment together.
Instead of the usual bridal table setup, they chose something more personal, a small individual table for two tucked among their guests.
Every part of their day was intentionally planned, full of so much raw emotion, love, laughter and even some little happy dances. 🥰

I love capturing the drama of a long train and flowing veil, here are some tips of how to work with them on your special day.
🤍 During your final fitting, walk around in your full dress and veil with your actual wedding shoes. Practice turning, sitting, and even walking up and down stairs so you know exactly how the fabric moves.
🤍 Choose one person (maid of honor, bridesmaid, or sibling) and show them exactly how you’d like your train spread out for photos. They can also practice tossing your veil a few times so it floats perfectly on cue.
🤍 Ask your hairstylist to demonstrate how to insert and remove your veil without messing up your hair
🤍 Use a metal-tooth comb (they grip better than plastic) and anchor it with crisscrossed bobby pins. If you’re outdoors, ask your stylist to lightly spray the comb with hairspray before inserting, it adds extra grip against wind.
🤍 Have your seamstress add a bustle so that you can attach your train. If your dress is heavy, consider a French bustle (underneath) for better weight distribution.
🤍Use clear nail polish to stop small snags in lace or tulle from spreading.

There’s a kind of comfort in being surrounded by women who understand the unspoken parts of your story. The ones who show up without needing a reason, who laugh with you until your stomach hurts, and who hold space for your tears without judgment.
