This term we’ve been exploring foam printing as a form of relief printmaking, using EVA foam and pens to carve out designs that become printing plates. The process has been full of discovery, experimentation, and creative problem-solving.

One of the most enjoyable parts of frottage is the sense of discovery it creates. Because you never fully know how a texture will translate onto paper, each rubbing reveals unexpected patterns, details, and imagery. Connected to the Surrealism movement, the process encourages experimentation, curiosity, and imaginative thinking while helping students build confidence with observation, composition, and mark-making.
