THROWBACK THURSDAY | This week we are looking back to 1966 when the Connal Wing was officially opened at the then Church of England Boys School.
According to a Toowoomba Chronicle article from the official blessing, the $54,000 project would accomodate 150 boarders, classrooms for 380 students as well as a sports oval and a swimming pool.
The paper described former Headmaster Mr N 'Boss' Connal as "his usual witty self" as during the ceremony he was quoted as saying he was "used to opening jam tins and fish tins, but not schools".
What are some of your memories of the Connal Wing?

JOIN US - Hi I’m Simone Redwood. I stepped into the President role in October 2025 and in July we will be having TASAs AGM. While I promise to put my hand up again for election, we are actively welcoming new members to the Committee. New people bring fresh ideas and increase our ability to support and grow fun Alumni events & opportunities.
Do you realise in 2028 it will be 10 years since our first Year 12s graduated? We would love our Young Alumni to get involved on the Committee and help us grow social events such as the Gala which we sponsored this year, Barefoot Bowl (June 26) and back to TAS events like last years TAS v Young Alumni Mixed Netball (Oct 26).
We also plan in the future to focus on including past students that left at the end of Primary (Junior Alumni) or during their Secondary Years. If you went to school here you are always Alumni.
Other events we have or will support this year are Alumni BBQs and Tours and the Year 12 Formal & Graduation celebrations.
You don't need to start in an Executive role, just come along. Don't worry if you join you won't be seeing everyone else taking a step back and leaving you to carry the ball.
More information to follow.
