The area is mostly dairy with associated industries creating employment for the community. We have a student population of around 130 which has remained stable over the last three years. The school is a new b

The curriculum provided is rich and encourages all students to challenge themselves and to strive for improvement. Students are also offered a range of extra-curricular activities along with their core learning including a camp program, excursions, music tuition and incursions. We have a strong wellbeing program to support students and families and a powerful student leadership program that builds student skills right across the school and into the community. Tongala Primary School has ties to many areas of the community. Students regularly visit the aged care home for an afternoon of board games, students assist the RSL by taking part in ANZAC, Legacy and Beersheba celebrations, we visit the town library and keep a positive link with our local policeman. We also have many community members come into the school to work with students in literacy and maths as well as sporting activities. The school surrounds are spacious, beautifully presented and maintained. To enhance students’ outdoor play and learning there is a playground offering fun and challenge. A wonderful environmental block housing vegetable gardens, chooks and an outdoor classroom provide alternative learning experiences for students. Values:
