- Fall requirement for niches

Commonly asked questions about the fall requirement for niches;

1. Is there fall requirement for niches?
2. Does the niche need to have fall or can the tile simply have fall?

You can find the answer to both of these questions in AS3740 Clause 4.12.4 d).

"The base of a niche shall have a minimum grade fall of 1:100 towards the shower."

Did you know that clause 4.8.5 c) of AS3740 requires a vertical waterstop where the extremity of a shower is located within 200mm of a wet area exit?
