Focus 40 is our weekly whole-school focus, helping students build strong learning habits, wellbeing and positive behaviours across all 40 weeks of the school year.

Congratulations to Jayden, Lialah and Jessica who travelled to Chinchilla to compete against 21 other teams in the region on a variety of Math concepts. It was a great experience and they represented The Gums State School very well.

Our P-2 students had a fantastic excursion to Toowoomba today with Mrs Finden, Miss Eliza and Mrs Major! We set off bright and early, starting our day at Picnic Point with morning tea before exploring the lookout and waterfall and completing our HASS questions. 🌿🔍
We then headed to the Empire Theatre to watch a fantastic Room on the Broom performance. The students were absolutely in awe of the whole production and loved joining in with the sing-alongs! 🧙‍♀️🎶 Empire Theatre, Toowoomba
To finish our day, we headed to Queens Park for PIZZA! 🍕 before meeting up with Teelba State School and some wonderful horticulturalists to explore the beautiful gardens. 🌳🌸 A huge thank you to Teelba for organising this opportunity! Teelba State School

Today, our students participated in a whole-school arts workshop, exploring different artistic techniques and styles through watercolour, charcoal, crayon and collage.
One of the favourite activities was the warm-up using their non-dominant hand. We had lots of laughs and some very creative results!
We’re so grateful for opportunities like this, where visiting services can come to our school and provide our students with new experiences, creative opportunities and the chance to explore their artistic skills. ✏️🎨
