EUCHARIST

Congratulations to our Year 4 students, who received the Sacrament of Eucharist at the end of Term 3. Also known as Holy Communion, this sacrament is a special celebration in the Catholic Church where we remember and thank Jesus for his love. During this sacrament, we believe that bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus. When we receive Communion, we are sharing a meal with Jesus and growing closer to him. It helps us to feel part of the Church community and to remember the importance of love, kindness, and sharing with others. For students at St Bernadette’s, this sacrament is usually celebrated for the first time in Year 4, after they have prepared through learning and prayer.

HEALESVILLE SANCTUARY

In Term 3, the Preps ventured out to Healesville Sanctuary to complement their Inquiry Learning focus on Sustainability, including our Religion focus on Stewardship and how to care for animals.

DISTRICT BASKETBALL

Congratulations to two of our amazing Year 6 students for being awarded “Most Valuable Player” for their very skilled play on the District Basketball day. Both earned themselves a trophy for their efforts. WELL DONE!

TERM 3 RELIGION FOCUS - STEWARDSHIP

The Junior school liturgy focused on our Term Three Religion concept - ‘Stewardship of Creation’.
As part of this liturgy, our Junior students ventured down to our nature reserve to acknowledge how our beautiful environment is a ‘Gift from God'.
