Have you got a creative young one at home who loves making art, craft and mess?

We have some spots available in our group of littlest artists for Term 2! Located at the beautiful Gallery1855 in Tea Tree Gully.

Term 2's theme is 'Amazing Animals'. We will draw, paint and collage, learning some key techniques while exploring new mediums and having fun in our welcoming and fun group environment. We will also create a soft sculpture with fabric and sewing techniques- a lost art!

This term only, children will be able to exhibit some special artwork in 1855 in the 'Mess x Maker' exhibition in June.

And the full collection of a la prima landscapes by our Young Creatives.

Participants began with a red underpainting and were given the task to paint the landscape at Pine Park in only one - two sessions. They could leave however much or little of red behind in the finished product. The red creates a unity between all 10 paintings by influencing the colour pallet of all paintings in the same way- the leader of colours. Meanwhile, being the complimentary colour to green, the two colours together create a vibration, reflecting the vibrant hues of the park in Spring.

Plein air painting done in one session ('a-la-prima') by one of our Young Creatives.

There's a freshness that comes from painting outdoors that just cannot be achieved in a studio....This painting captures so beautifully the luminosity of our wet and sunny Spring...vibrant flickering light and the movement of the breeze.

Mondays Little Artists and Young Makers - depictions of our local landscapes of Anstey Hill, Black Hill and Morialta.

Participants were inspired by landscape artist Tony Scott who was a finalist in this year's Hadley's Art Prize. Our artists simplified their images into 3-6 shapes only and we all used a blue underpainting to unify all of the artworks as a collection.
