Hi all,

Another call out for any recycled items you’d like to donate to the daycare.

-tin cans
-corks
-egg cartons
-milk cartons
-boxes
-pots

Or anything else you can think of or have laying around!

In the coming weeks the children will be looking at little beasts and will be making their very own bug hotels using the recycled materials

Please feel free to leave these at the front of the daycare or pop in and say hi as you drop them off.

Textures.

This morning we explored textures.
We used different types of slime, so this was something the children loved!

We had wet slime, sticky slime, bumpy slime and very very sticky balls!

It was funny to watch the children touch the slime very carefully and then others go straight in and spend the whole activity trying to get the very very sticky balls off their hands, but instead stuck to their other hand.

We got to add things into our slime that would change the texture.

🌾 flour sensory play

our sensory activity for today was a simple but messy activity.
It started off with writing our names and letters in the flour.

The children then extended their own thinking and added cars and trains into the flour to make tracks.

They enjoyed banging the tub to watch the flour jump up and down with each hit.

Through this very simple activity the children showed they were confident and involved learners.
They demonstrated:
-independent learning
-curiosity and enthusiasm
-shared ideas
-used their play to investigate, experiment, test, imagine and explore ideas.
-use trial and error
-engage with others to co-construct learning.

What better way to explore colours and colour mixing than with a bit of shaving foam fun!
Was definitely a fan favourite!

Through the activity children explored through their senses, picking up on the smell and feel of the foam.

Investigation and hypothesising through mixing the colours.
