Barking Mad Pedal Prix Teams

This year the school approved a new trike to be built by Pete Askew. Pete disappeared into his shed night after night. He was helped by the other dads (who mainly held things, pointed and drank beer). Not only did he produce a top quality homemade corflute trike for the Barking Mad team (achieved 3rd in Cat 2016), but built Biohazard - a trike for the mad parents to participate. This year celebrated the 30th year of the AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL PEDAL PRIX with fireworks at the Murray Bridge race.

Pedal Prix isn't just about riding around a track - it's builds friendships, team work, fitness and is great fun for all the family.

A trip down memory lane to the start of the Barking Mad Pedal Prix Teams.

It all started with one old forgotten school trike, a group of eager Year 8 kids and their supportive parents. When the trike was picked up from the school and dusted off, Pete and Andy thought they were mad to attempt a rebuild - and from there the team was named Barking Mad
(Mt Barker High and being MAD).

Thank you to the Board of Australian International Pedal Prix for keeping us updated. We always appreciate your hard work. The Mount Barker High School Pedal Prix teams will all be ready when we can race again.

Keep positive, try to maintain your fitness and we'll see you all on the track in due course.

When the green light finally returns for the University of South Australia Australian HPV Super Series, Mount Barker High School's All Female Team, Barking Beauty’s, will be ready to race.

Like many teams we are disappointed that the Mount Gambier race has been cancelled, which is out of everyone's control. We extend our thanks to the AHPVSS organisers for their dedication and hard work. We hope to see them and all the other teams at Loxton. 🤞

We had an awesome training day at THE BEND today along with many other Pedal Prix Teams. Great to see everyone out there. Looking forward to Mount Gambier.

Barking Beauty's is nearly ready for the season. Just need new windows and our sponsor stickers. The team would like to thank David Nagle who has spent many hours over the past few months completely stripping the trike, servicing, rebuilding and respraying it.
