The flipped classroom turns traditional teaching on its head — literally! 🙃
Instead of spending class time on lectures, learners engage with content before class (videos, readings, quizzes), freeing up classroom time for interaction, problem-solving, and personalised support.
In English language teaching, flipping a class can:
✅ Give students more control over their learning pace
✅ Increase opportunities for speaking and collaboration
✅ Allow teachers to focus on feedback and higher-order skills

Bloom’s Taxonomy continues to be a valuable framework for structuring learning across contexts — from elementary classrooms to adult English language teaching.
This visual reminds us that learning begins with remembering and understanding, but true mastery comes when learners can apply, analyse, evaluate, and create.
At NEAS, we see how teachers use Bloom’s hierarchy to:
✅ Design learning objectives that build in complexity.
✅ Ask questions that stimulate deeper thinking.
✅ Differentiate tasks so learners can progress at their own pace.
✅ Assess both foundational knowledge and higher-order skills.
Even at the earliest stages, students are capable of critical and creative thinking when supported appropriately. Bloom’s framework gives us a roadmap to make that possible.
