Zuzy's Bio:

Born in Poland, Zuzy is a vocalist, songwriter, and performer whose music blurs the boundaries between raw emotion and polished artistry. With a foundation in classical training, a bachelor’s degree in Music Education, and years of experience in Poland, United Kingdom and Australia, she brings depth and authenticity to every note she plays. Zuzy’s move to Australia ignited her journey into original songwriting. Initially hesitant to write in English due to self-consciousness about her accent, she embraced her uniqueness, proving that authenticity resonates far louder than perfection. Her music reflects her personal evolution—marked by the challenges of 2023, a transformative year of self-discovery, therapy, and creative awakening. Zuzy's teaching style is activity based, with an individual approach, working closely with students and parents of the students to ensure the best outcome. 🎶 Lessons for Teenagers: More Than Just Music.

Teenagers come to music lessons for all sorts of reasons — some want to master technique, others want a creative outlet, and many just want a space that feels like their own. At this age, music can be so much more than scales and songs.

Why Music Lessons Matter in the Teen Years
1. A Creative Outlet
Teenagers often use music to express what they’re feeling — especially when words don’t quite cut it. Singing or playing piano gives them a safe, healthy way to explore emotions and connect with themselves.

2. Confidence Building
Every small win — nailing a tricky section, performing something new, improvising freely — builds self-esteem. I gently challenge students to grow, while always meeting them where they are.

3. Skill & Discipline
Music is a long game. Teens learn how to set goals, manage practice time, and stay committed — skills that serve them far beyond music.

4. Personalised Learning
No two teens are the same. Some want structure and exams, others want to write songs, explore TikTok covers, or play their favourite movie theme. I tailor lessons to suit their style, personality and goals.

🎤 How to Set Up for Online Singing Lessons?

Online singing lessons are a flexible and effective way for kids to explore their voice and build confidence — all from the comfort of home. Here’s how to make sure your child is ready for a smooth and successful session.

✅ What You’ll Need
1. A quiet, private space - Choose a room where your child feels comfortable to sing out loud without distraction. It’s best if others aren’t in the room or listening in — this helps reduce self-consciousness!

2. A laptop or tablet - Zoom or Skype installed, with a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi is fine, but strong signal matters). Position the camera so I can see their face and posture

3. A water bottle nearby - Staying hydrated supports healthy singing!

4. A music notebook or folder - For lyrics, notes, and warm-ups. I’ll send any materials or backing tracks ahead of time

5. Headphones (optional) - Not required, but can help with hearing backing tracks or recordings more clearly

đź’ˇ Tips for Parents
- Be nearby for younger children, especially during the first few lessons
- Light snacks before are fine (nothing heavy or milky)
- Encourage confidence, not perfection — it’s all about expression and exploration
- No need to "practice extra" before the first lesson — we’ll start gently and build from there
- With a little preparation, online singing lessons can be just as fun, personal, and expressive as in-person sessions. I’ll guide your child every step of the way.

🎶 Let’s get ready to sing — from home!

Getting Ready for In-Person Singing Lessons?

In-person singing lessons are a wonderful way for children to explore their voice, grow in confidence, and connect with music in a fun and expressive way. Here’s how to help your child get the most out of their sessions.

✅ What You’ll Need
1. A quiet, distraction-free space - Singing is expressive, and children feel more confident when they’re not overheard or interrupted. Ideally, choose a room with a bit of space to move and stand comfortably

2. A bottle of water - Staying hydrated is key to vocal health!

3. A music notebook or folder - For lyrics, warmups, and notes
I may also provide backing tracks or sheet music throughout the term.

4. Comfortable clothes - Singing involves movement and breathing, so comfy clothes are best (no tight waistbands or heavy jumpers)

5. No instrument - no problem! Let me know so I can bring my own instrument - ukulele or keyboard.

đź’ˇ Extra Tips
- No need to "warm up" beforehand – we’ll do that together in the lesson
- A light snack before the lesson is okay (nothing too heavy or milky)
- Encourage your child to bring their full voice, not perfection — confidence comes with time
- If your child is shy, I’ll guide them gently. If they’re bursting with energy, we’ll channel it into musical expression!

The goal is to create a space where your child feels safe, heard, and inspired to express themselves. I bring the musical tools and gentle encouragement — you bring the voice!

Getting Ready for In-Person Piano Lessons?

In-person piano lessons are a fantastic way for kids to build musical confidence with hands-on support and real-time interaction. To make the most of each session, here’s how to prepare your space at home.

✅ What You’ll Need
1. A piano or keyboard -61 keys minimum (88 is ideal), touch-sensitive keys (weighted if possible). Set up in a quiet space, free from distractions

2. A supportive chair - height matters! Their arms should be relaxed, and feet flat or on a small footstool

3. A tidy area around the piano - Clear space helps with focus and freedom of movement. Good lighting is important so they can see the keys and sheet music

4. Music books & a notebook - Keep these nearby so we can jump straight into learning - don't forget colouring pencils if we're using them!

I’ll let you know what we’re using each term. :)

đź’ˇ Extra Tips
- Please keep pets and siblings out of the room during the lesson
- Light snacks before the lesson are okay — avoid during
- Try to keep the same time and place each week for consistency
- If your child is feeling unwell, let me know — we can often switch to an online lesson that day
- Creating a calm, focused environment helps your child stay present, confident and ready to learn. I'm here to support them every step of the way!

Online Piano Lessons - Common Concerns

1. Will my child stay focused online?

Yes – lessons are tailored to suit your child’s age, personality and attention span. I incorporate variety, movement, and regular interaction to keep them involved. Shorter classes for younger children, The use of theory sticker books - each student has their own preferred way to learn!

2. Is it as effective as in-person learning?

Absolutely. With the right structure, communication and planning (which I prioritise), online learning can be just as effective—and often more convenient.

🎶 When Should Kids Start Singing or Piano Lessons? 🎹🎤

Parents often ask: “What’s the best age to start music lessons?” 🤔🎶

✨ For Singing: Kids can start as young as 4-5 years old! At this age, we focus on fun introduction of musical elements, singing, rhythm, and confidence-building—no pressure, just joy! 🌟

🎹 For Piano: Many kids are ready by 5-6 years old, when their hands are strong enough to explore the keys and they can recognize patterns! But even younger kids can enjoy musical play and simple songs.

Every child is different, and the best time to start is when they show interest in music! 🎶
