Celebrating 70 Years of Sunshine North Primary School!
Last Friday, our staff and students came together on the oval to form the number 70 to officially mark seven decades of Sunshine North Primary School.
From the classrooms of 1956 to the classrooms of today, generations of students have walked through our gates, and generations of staff have poured their hearts into this community. Seeing everyone gather together, shoulder to shoulder, to celebrate that history was a moment none of us will forget.
And this is just the beginning of the celebrations!
Mark your calendars — December is set to be big with a full Week of Celebrations leading up to our big event:
🎈 SNPS 70th Birthday Fiesta

Our Grade 1/2 students got creative this Book Week, diving into three of this year’s CBCA shortlisted picture books: Dear Broccoli, Bob and Dob, and The Emperor’s Egg. Their classwork explored the storytelling and illustration behind each title, showing some brilliant analysis and creativity along the way!

A huge congratulations to our 8 amazing Sunny North students who recently represented our school at Maths Games Day, hosted by St Lawrence Primary School in Derrimut!

These students were selected for consistently showing exceptional problem-solving and reasoning skills in the classroom, and they proved it on the day. Split into two teams of four, our students spent the day tackling puzzles, thinking laterally, and working together to solve complex mathematical challenges alongside students from schools across Victoria.

The results speak for themselves… one of our teams placed 1st out of 26 teams from across Victoria!

We’re so proud of the confidence, teamwork, and mathematical thinking our students showed throughout the day. Well done to all involved!
