Today we paused to acknowledge National Sorry Day and honour the strength and resilience of Stolen Generations survivors, their families and communities.
National Sorry Day recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were forcibly removed from their families, communities and cultures, and the ongoing impacts that continue across generations.
This year’s theme, From Sorry to Action, reminds us that acknowledgement must be followed by meaningful action, truth-telling, healing and justice.
At Sunshine North Primary School, we stand together in learning, reflection and respect as we continue to build understanding and reconciliation within our community.

The countdown is on for our Athletics Carnival on Wednesday 20th May.
Our Prep-2 students will stay at school for their events, while our Grade 3-6 students will head off to Dempster Park ready to compete.
Students can wear their house colours to show their team spirit or come in their school sports uniform.
It is always one of the best days of the year and we cannot wait to see the cheering, collaboration and friendly competition. Which house will win this year?
When you visit the book fair in the library, don’t forget to enter the competition to guess the number of pages in all these books.
Sunshine North Primary came together to celebrate Do It For Dolly Day with a sea of blue and plenty of kindness.
Thanks to the generosity of our school community, we raised $178.35 to support bullying prevention and promote kindness. We are so proud to stand together on this important issue.
