🎓 Exploring pathways at VU Sunshine!

We recently welcomed students from Mambourin to Victoria University Sunshine for a campus tour and pathways workshop.

Students had the opportunity to:
🔹 Explore the VU Sunshine campus
🔹 Learn about different TAFE and university qualifications
🔹 Discover study and career pathways at VU
🔹 Chat with our Disability Transition Team about the support available to students when they begin studying with us

It was a great opportunity for students to get a feel for campus life, ask questions and start thinking about what their next steps could look like. 💙

National Skills Week is a good reminder that everyone should have access to the skills, information and support they need to take their next step.

That’s what we do at the VU Skills & Jobs Centre — work with people from across our community, whatever their age, background, experience or career stage.

Whether you’re looking for work, thinking about a career change, considering study or training, or just not sure what your next step looks like, we’re here to help.

**National Skills Week – Skills for Everyone**

National Skills Week is a good reminder that **skills, training and career opportunities need to be accessible to everyone**.

At the **VU Skills & Jobs Centre**, working with diverse communities is a core part of what we do — including CALD/EAL students and people with disability.

This week:

📅 **Wednesday 26 August – VU Werribee**
Running a Job Application Skills session for EAL II Employment students, focusing on practical skills for applying for work.

📅 **Friday 28 August – VU Sunshine**
Welcoming young people with disability from Melton Specialist School for a campus tour and workshop exploring different types of work and the skills and training connected to those careers.

Accessible career support is also about having the right support available for different needs. National Skills Week 2026 is a chance to recognise the importance of skills, vocational education and training in building Australia’s workforce and creating pathways into employment.

It highlights the many different ways people can gain skills, explore careers, retrain, take up an apprenticeships or find a pathway that works for them.

So good to step back from our desks this afternoon and celebrate our July birthdays together as a team! 🥳🎂

An extra special highlight today was finally having Di back in the flesh after such a long absence - it was great to see her and truly made our special lunch complete.

No matter how busy things get, it’s so important to take time to connect and celebrate each other ❤️✨
