A history of crochet!
Crochet has a cool history, and I felt it was important to add a quick run-down to my beginner's crochet class.
Understanding the history of something or someone gives us a deeper understanding and appreciation.
In this case, you will learn about the evolution of crochet styles, including an EPIC period around the '60s and '70s where colours like baby poo yellow and nanna's kitchen orange were the rage!

I needed a way to calm anxiety and fight depression.
I was 13 and on the Christmas school holidays when I decided I needed something to take my mind off...well...my mind!
I had been watching my nan crochet for years and asked her if she would teach me.
She couldn't read a pattern and only knew how to do the basic granny stitch, so that's what she taught me!
I found crochet to be a great way to find peace in my mind and give my hands something to do. It became my way of meditating.
This is why I teach crochet to beginners. It's such a great way to find some stillness in yourself while still be productive and creative.
