Garden tool workshops on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. Make your gardening experience amazing!

Photos from Emily's Workshops's post 06/10/2025

The first garden tools workshop held in Brisbane was a great success! Hosted at the inspiring Northey Street City Farm , we sharpened, chatted and learned a thing or two. Someone's chainsaw chain was on the wrong way (gosh that's going to make a big difference!) and someone else learned that perhaps they did not need to send their secateurs to Melbourne to be sharpened, they could do it themselves in a matter of minutes! How empowering AND economical!

If you're keen to have some similar enlightening moments, join me November 29th for what will undoubtably be another wonderful morning :) Seats very limited so get in early - https://www.nscf.org.au/home/learn/sustainable-living-workshops/

Workshops & Short Courses - Northey Street City Farm 01/09/2025

Happy First Day of Spring! As a Canadian, I don't understand why this doesn't fall on the equinox but hey, it's your country! I'll just celebrate twice :) And I welcome you to join me in Brisbane in October to get your tools and skills all ready for the summer season. I'm running a workshop at the inspiring Northey Street City Farm on Saturday October 4th 9-1pm. We will be dusting off those sleepy secateurs, giving them a good clean and oil then setting them to use in the gardens. We will look at how to sharpen most tools including chain saws, hedgers, spades, you name it! Then hopping into the garden to learn how to use them all. Please click on the link below - very limited spots, get in now!

Workshops & Short Courses - Northey Street City Farm Learn practical skills and how to live sustainably by attending these half-day or full-day workshops, usually on Saturdays. Workshop topics range from bee-keeping to mushroom cultivation to growing vegetables seasonally.

For the last few months I have been on holidays visiting my homeland, Canada! I had visions of weekly posts and personal development and research for future workshops but I also needed a reset and some serious relaxing time. As most holidays visiting family go, it has been busy! But delightful and so many special moments visiting friends, meeting new babies and fur baby cuddles. I’m really looking forward to returning back to Australia in a few weeks and preparing for my next workshop. Details to follow soon!

Ha Ha! Success!

Room for improvement but I feel like it's a Sunday night win.

I have figured out how to delete the previous post but I would like to keep this journey documented.

Social media is not my jam. But if I want to share the word about my workshops and empower women, I must persevere! This is supposed to be a video, but I have not figured it out yet. Nor have I figured out how to delete it. Bear with me!

Appreciation Monday!!

Last year my friend told me about an amazing organisation that offers support to women who run their own businesses. It was such great timing as I was just starting out a new chapter of my business after running my gardening business. Global Sisters runs heaps of online programs supporting women in all phases of their business journey and I've been so grateful for their support. This week my 12 week journey with amazing mentor Stephanie has come to a close and I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge her time, knowledge, inspiration and positivity over the past few months. She has kept me on track during a pretty challenging time of selling my house and moving with a 3 year old amongst a few other distractions. Without her steadfastness my business would have taken a back seat ands there's no way I would have ever pulled the laptop out at 9pm and accomplished anything! A huge thank you to Stephanie, Global Sisters and everyone who has supported me on my journey so far.
