This week we have been studying the book of Samuel! What a fun read...
Something that is highlighted in this book is leadership and worship - how Saul gets it wrong almost every time and how Davids heart is so purely after God. Through that, we got to see a big more of what Gods heart for worship truly is!

We have been studying the book of Deuteronomy this week, learning about the heart behind the Law!

The steps of the method used in SBS:

1) Out Loud - read the whole book out loud in one go

2) PT’s - create titles for each paragraph using 4 words or less from the text

3) Horizontal - from the PT’s, create a horizontal diagram showing the structure of the book, breaking it up into big divisions and small segments

4) BRI - Look into the historical background of the book including author, recipient, dating and culture of the time.

5) Charts - use the smallest segments of the book to look at the text in more detail. Make observations from the text and interpret them using the original reader and author in mind. Come to a timeless truth that can be applied no matter the culture or context

6) Application - the goal of bible study! Discuss what God has taught you through the book and come up with a practical way to apply this to your life!
