HOMESICKNESS/CUMHACH:
We know that there are a lot of you in Australia feeling homesick at the moment. A comfort to living on the other side of the world is knowing that you can jump on a plane home if anything ever happened. Now that this lifeline has been taken away, it’s only natural to miss loved ones in Ireland. We want to know that we hear you, and are going through the same thing.
People separated by distance have long found ways to maintain connections and the lessons we have learned from this are especially important during these difficult times. It’s about changing your frame of mind to focus on the bond that you have with family and friends at home, rather than focusing on the physical distance. Regular contact through video, phone calls, messages, and even post will all help. It’s also important to concentrate on the friendships and connections that you have forged here in Australia, reach out to the people present with you here.
Remember that even though we’re physically separated for the time being, it won’t last forever. Time doesn’t take away from family and friendship – neither does distance. 💚
It’s ok to be scared, but we’ll get through this collectively. The Irish have a longstanding history of coming together when times are tough and this is no different. IASAQ are always here to help.

One early morning whilst out on my run along the headland, I had to stop and take this photo of the stunning sunrise.

We create our own prison via our beliefs, opinions and judgements. We create the illusion always through the thoughts we are paying attention to. How we see the world, situation, event or person can and does change with our thinking.

I listened to a podcast this week that included Sydney Banks' son and his first client who after spending time with Syd, healed from mental illness that had plagued her for years. She went on to write three books, the first two were written with Syd, the last one was about her experience in the 1970's living and working around Syd Banks.
He was just an ordinary guy who had an enlightening experience and went on to share what he knew to be true.
What he saw has no words and is only gained through insight.
A bit like how we can describe how to ride a bicycle, draw pictures and explain, but to truly ride a bike you have to get on and feel it.
Its also like those pictures that have something hidden inside, obvious when you see it for yourself, but hard for someone to show you.
I was a coach and therapist before being introduced to Syd Banks but my whole life and work changed as I delved deeply into his work, listened to his lectures and read his books. I have also completed courses with others who have studied the Three principles of mind, consciousness and thought. these principles point to what Syd refers to, but are not it. They are tools that help point in a direction.
More and more people are realising the truth about how we live our life from the inside out, in that we experience how we are, (the thoughts we are paying attention to at any given moment), and not what is happening outside.
Thats why we can feel so many different emotions in the same situation. our emotions are an indicator of the quality of our momentary thoughts and not the situation.
I still get tricked every day by my thoughts, and then I wake up and see the truth and my mood lifts, until I get tricked again. But I seem to get tricked less these days, and when I do I wake up quicker.
If you find this interesting and would like to know more, send me a message and lets connect.

It’s 10 years this month since Sydney Banks died, you may or may not have heard of him. But, my life and work is guided by the insights I have experienced through listening and reading his wise words.
Wisdom is available to you, me and everyone else. Describing this can be difficult because there are no words.
But, you know those moments when you just know the answer? or you acted one way and afterwords, realise you knew but didn’t act on your instinct? That knowing us your wisdom.
We often ignore this, we search on the outside, we ask others what they think, when what all we really need is silence, to silence our own internal dialogue, in that space we hear beyond our personal noisy thinking, we hear something new, new fresh original thought.
This source is always there, but often ignored as we are busy searching on the outside for the solution or drowned out by the noise of our internal dialogue ❤️
