July Junior Rugby 3-Day Program ๐
Most common question I get is โAre all the days the same?โ. There are components we keep the same however the skill blocks change and are planned to cover all core skills alongside speed/ athletic development drills. These progress from refining the skill and then testing them in more open drills to encourage decision making and transfer to game scenarios.
The 3 days aim to provide all the tools for a solid day of contact and a rugby game on Friday ๐๐ผ

Thereโs potentially the โbestโ social media plan/schedule available within a few clicks. I honestly donโt want to lose touch of what I feel is our point of difference. A genuine approach of providing an environment for junior players to learn, have fun and continue fostering their love for the game. I will aim to provide some insight over the coming weeks; however might lack bells and whistles as we plan for our next program in July 8th, 9th and 10th ๐.

I love Sunshine Coast Rugby.
Not a sook post but just a challenge for the year - can we just be a bit better? I grew up here, my parents washed countless Stingrays Jerseys and Dads filled up countless water bottles. I love banter and grassroots rugby is full of quality chat from the sidelines. I agree I need to do a few more calf raises - good call.
But being targeted with such foul language with my 2 young kids present and a bunch of junior players around has no place. How can some of the punters also allow that beside them and accept that. Everyone has it tough in some way these days, life isnโt easy. Can we take a moment say hey are you doing okay? Could you just tone it down a bit? Or more importantly can some individuals pull their head in and be mindful of the environment?
Iโve always copped it and thatโs fine I enjoy most of it. But until we draw the line and realise whatโs acceptable can we all just set a good example for our juniors and our communities.

As the Prem season gets under way in the UK. Thereโs been enough time to reflect on the final part of my professional career. People often asked how it went, but it was tough - middle of covid, different kind of footy, injuries taking their toll, plus a young family at the time. Unfortunately chose to head home and cut that opportunity short. However there are always learnings and this transition lead me into starting my coaching journey. Which has been something I love and find so fulfilling, with the right attitude you never know what door might open and no experience in life is wasted.
