Wow it’s been a long time! I’ve still been selling in my Etsy shop up until recently but have just been too busy as a mum and in my work as a maths coach.

I don’t know about your kids, but when we go for walks, mine just love to search for sticks and throw them! It’s one of our favourite things to do at the moment. So I’ve had lots of opportunities to think about the maths involved. Here are some things we have tried: 🔅Can you find a stick the same height as you? 🔅Can you find a stick the same height as Mummy or daddy? 🔅Let’s collect some sticks and... -count to find out who has carried the most. -line them up from shortest to longest -compete to find the longest or shortest stick 🔅And then of course you have to throw them: Who can throw their stick the furthest? Watch the last video to see if you can work out who threw our sticks the furthest- Mr 4 year old or little Miss 2 year old? 😆 These ideas involve concepts including estimation, counting and informal measurement. And the Christmas fire place is complete! Did have to get dads help towards the end but still pretty proud :)

I've always wanted a fire place to hang my Christmas stockings on... So this year I'm making my own. It started life as a pallet and is in the process of being transformed into a blackboard fireplace. So far no help from dad- he's not even in the country! Very proud of myself so far. Well they are over too soon again but here's a wrap up of my holiday projects...a corona cake for my husband's bday, a heart shaped string art design, a re-upholstered bed frame and of course an array of waterproof bunting orders. Busy time...Wish the holidays would last a bit longer :)
