As a mum of an adult daughter, I’ve learnt that motherhood doesn’t stop when they grow up. It simply changes shape.
Now it’s about being present for the little moments:
✨ The unexpected chats
✨ The walks together
✨ The laughing over dinner
✨ The “mum, can I ask your advice?”
✨ The simple gift of still being needed in different ways
This new chapter of motherhood that feels less about managing life… and more about enjoying it together.
To every midlife mum navigating changing identities, empty nests, or adult children finding their wings — you’re not losing your purpose.
You’re simply being invited into a new version of it.
Happy Mother’s Day 💛

I came across this on my walk yesterday and it really hit home. 28 weeks ago, I made a decision to show up differently for myself. Not perfectly. Not always motivated. But consistently.
Some days I feel energised to eat well and train.
Other days, I have to push myself just to show up.
I’m not where I want to be yet — but I’m no longer where I started. It took time to see and feel the difference, but now I feel stronger & look stronger.
I am showing up for the future me because I’m building strength she can rely on.
And that’s what keeps me going. 💛

It hasn’t just been the big changes—the small, steady ones have been just as powerful in creating real change.

Here’s the truth about midlife weight-loss no one talks about… ⬇️
The weight loss slowed.
My motivation dropped.
Life got busy… and messy… and overwhelming at times.
But I didn’t stop.
I didn’t start over.
I didn’t wait for motivation to come back.
I didn’t tell myself “I’ll try again next week.”
I just kept going… imperfectly.
Some weeks it looked like progress.
Some weeks it looked like maintenance.
Some weeks it looked like doing the bare minimum to stay on track.
And that’s how this happened 👇
16kg down. Halfway there.
Not because I was always motivated…
But because I built systems that carried me when I wasn’t.
This is what midlife health change really looks like:
✨ Consistency over intensity
✨ Discipline over motivation
✨ Showing up… especially when you don’t feel like it
If you’re in a season where it feels slower, harder, or less exciting…
👉 You’re not failing.
👉 You’re in the part that actually creates the result.
Keep going.
Because this version of you?
She’s built through the days you didn’t feel like it.

I won this… and I almost didn’t start.
Not because I wasn’t capable—
but because I was scared.
Scared of failing.
Scared of not keeping up.
Scared of being the least fit in the room.
And comparison?
That nearly stopped me completely.
But instead of waiting to feel confident…
I chose to be brave.
I showed up anyway.
Did the hard things.
Kept going when it would’ve been easier to quit.
And that’s what changed everything.
This win isn’t about being the best—
it’s about being brave enough to begin.
So if you’re a midlife woman sitting on the sidelines, thinking “I should start…”
This is your sign.
You don’t need to be ready.
You just need to be brave enough to take the first step.

Midlife change doesn’t require a dramatic leap.
It’s built through small consistent actions.
Start where you are.
Do what you can.
Repeat.

Thinking about a career change in your 40s or 50s? Read this. ⬇️
At 47, I made a life-changing decision.
I pursued a dream career shift.
Packed up my life.
Moved 4,000 km.
Backed myself.
Not because it was safe —
but because it was aligned.
Now, at almost 50, I stand in community spaces like this — speaking, leading, contributing to arts, culture and connection.
If it’s still on your heart, it’s not too late.
Courage doesn’t expire at 40.
Or 50.
Or ever.
✨ Midlife isn’t the end of the story.
It’s where you finally start listening to yourself.

I didn’t feel like going to the gym yesterday.
It was Saturday.
I had to work.
There were chores waiting.
And honestly? I was tired.
It would have been so easy to say,
“Not today.”
But I’m learning something about habit change in midlife…
Habit change isn’t built on motivation.
It’s built on identity and small promises kept.
I didn’t go because I felt like it.
I went because I’m becoming the kind of woman who keeps showing up for herself.
Midlife has taught me this —
waiting to feel ready keeps you stuck.
Showing up anyway changes who you believe you are.
So I made it easy:
• Gym clothes laid out the night before
• No overthinking the workout
• Just a simple goal: walk in the door
And once I was there?
Energy followed action.
This is the shift.
It’s not about becoming a “gym person.”
It’s about becoming someone who honours her commitments — especially the ones no one else sees.
If you’re in a season where you don’t feel like starting…
start anyway.
Your future self is built in the moments you almost stayed home.
💬 Tell me — what’s one small promise you can keep to yourself this week?
Who struggles with adding more protein to their diet? One of my habit improvements is to add more protein to my diet. Even with 3 x protein based meals a day i am struggling so I am trying some new vegan products frim
