💫 A new week, a new challenge!

Our students are always ready to jump in, have a go and, most importantly, have some fun along the way!

This week’s challenge: Can you sit on the ball as it rolls by?

There were plenty of attempts, lots of laughter and some very determined students! That’s the Stanhope Spirit we love to see — giving things a go, cheering each other on and enjoying the moment.

Enjoy! 😊

🐶 Responsible Pet Ownership Visit 🐶

On Friday we had Nikki and her dog Chuck come to visit us as part of the Responsible Pet Ownership program. Students learnt all about dog safety, how to care and look after their pets and the ways to interact with dogs they don’t know.

Together we learnt a song to help us remember what to do and each student had a turn at asking Nikki to pat her dog 🐾

Thank-you Nikki and Chuck for visiting us at Stanhope Primary School.

💫 In our Auslan studies at the moment we are working on signing numbers, however we thought students might like to use this video to practise their finger spelling.

Geo and Gem are familiar faces as we use their program regularly. Auslan Time with Geo and Gem

💫 Maths in our hands!

Our junior mathematicians had lots of fun using bead frames during today’s subtraction lesson!

They moved, counted and grouped the beads to physically see what was happening as they solved subtraction problems.

There is so much power in using concrete maths tools with young learners. Hands-on resources help children make sense of abstract mathematical ideas by allowing them to see it, touch it, move it and explain it.

These experiences build understanding, confidence and strong mathematical thinking that can later be transferred to numbers and symbols.

We loved seeing our juniors learning through doing today!
