The way this Cirroteuthidae octopus moves across the ocean floor 🤤 ( Yes, the video is sped up )
🎥
The Cirroteuthidae, a family of deep-sea octopuses often called "umbrella octopuses" due to the webbing between their arms. Unlike most octopuses, they have a pair of small fins on their head, used for gliding gracefully through the water. These creatures are adapted to life in the deep ocean, where sunlight doesn’t reach. Their translucent bodies and delicate appearance make them look otherworldly. Living in such extreme environments, they rely on slow, energy-efficient movement and are rarely seen by humans. A true marvel of the deep sea!
