Looking forward to another amazing night with great people, plenty of action, and, most importantly, supporting a great cause! ๐ŸฅŠ๐Ÿ“ธ

Always a pleasure to be involved with Mates in Mining, and we canโ€™t wait to get back behind the cameras and capture all the action again this year.

Bring on Fight Night! ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ“ธ

An image I captured a couple of years ago of a beautiful humpback whale at Port Macquarie.

This particular whale was noteworthy, although not entirely unusual, as it was travelling south while the rest of the population was still migrating north. Around that time, another whale in the area became entangled in approximately 30m of drag line fishing nets. With proper clearance from National Parks and Wildlife, I conducted a closer inspection, as this whale exhibited unusual behaviour, such as travelling solo south and remaining near the water's surface without diving. Fortunately, this whale was not the one caught in the netting.

One of the absolute highlights of our recent trip to Far North Queensland had to be our morning on the Daintree River with Solar Whisper Daintree River Crocodile & Wildlife Cruises.

We spent a few unforgettable hours on the water with Dave, whose knowledge of the Daintree ecosystem and its wildlife was second to none. More importantly, his genuine respect for the animals and their environment really stood out.
Unlike the larger tour boats, Solar Whisper operates a much smaller vessel powered by a whisper-quiet electric motor. Not only does it make for a far more intimate experience, but it also means the wildlife isn't disturbed, allowing for some incredible up-close encounters. The smaller boat can also access narrow sections of the river and backwaters that many of the bigger operators simply can't reach.

From crocodiles and snakes to birds, frogs and everything in between, every moment on the river was fascinating. Dave's ability to spot wildlife hidden amongst the mangroves and rainforest was nothing short of impressive, and his passion for sharing the Daintree with visitors is infectious.
A huge thank you to Dave for such an amazing experience. If you're heading to the Daintree and want a wildlife tour that prioritises nature, conservation and an authentic experience over crowds, we can't recommend Solar Whisper highly enough. It was easily one of the standout experiences of our trip. ๐ŸŠ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š

Thanks to Jason from Eye Kaptured for highly recommending Dave!

A hungry crocodile sat patiently beneath the overhanging branches, watching and waiting as a green tree snake enjoyed its freshly caught frog. Whether it was hoping the snake would drop its meal or become the meal itself. Nature can be brutal

Just thought I'd share a couple of shots I got today whilst out with Dave from Solar Whisper Daintree River Crocodile & Wildlife Cruises.

I've got at least a thousand photos to sift through from today's river cruise out spotting Crocs of all sizes and with some other special wildlife encounters!

Did anyone capture the fireball in the sky tonight? My good friend Matt @ Unearthed by Matt was incredibly lucky to not only capture the fireball but also lucky enough to capture it with a backdroped aurora at Lighthouse Beach at Port Macquarie!! Talk about an amazing shot

Out tonight to see if I could get some of the nice Aurora glow that's been lighting up the skies with this event. Whilst the colours were there, a nice pink on the horizon, the main event was when a meteor (update: rocket, not meteor) that created a fireball in the sky, right overhead in my shot, what timing!
