The Hon Vijitha Herath minister of foreign affairs, foreign employment and tourism in Sri Lanka was on an official visit to Australia and also had an open community meeting on the 31 May in Melbourne.

It was an honour to be invited, as President of the Australia Sri Lanka Business Council, to attend the inaugural Small Business Awards Ceremony hosted by Minister for Small Business Natalie Suleyman MP and Business Victoria.

The event brought together heads of many business councils, members of the Ministerial Business Advisory Committee, and outstanding small business award winners from across Victoria.

It was inspiring to witness the recognition and celebration of the remarkable contribution small businesses make to our economy, communities, innovation, and employment. Congratulations to all the award recipients and organisers for a successful and meaningful event.
