INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PLAY || 🎨⚽
Today, students celebrated the International Day of Play with an engaging experience that combined physical activity and visual arts. Montague School's theme this year was “Choose Play Every Day”. Students had opportunities to move, create, collaborate, and express themselves in different ways, highlighting the importance of play in supporting wellbeing, connection, and learning.
It was wonderful to see students embracing creativity, teamwork and joyful experiences as we recognised the value of play within our school community.

NATIONAL SORRY DAY || Today at Montague School, we took time to recognise National Sorry Day.
Today marked a meaningful moment for our school community with the installation of our serpent artwork. This collaborative project has been in development for some time, bringing together the contributions, creativity and connection of many people within our school community. It felt especially significant to see it installed on a day centred on reflection, truth-telling and connection - reminding us of the importance of coming together, honouring stories and continuing our journey towards understanding and reconciliation.
Together, we recognise that learning from the past helps us build a more respectful, inclusive and connected future.

NATIONAL SORRY DAY || Today, we acknowledge National Sorry Day. A day of remembrance, reflection and truth-telling that honours the Stolen Generations.
National Sorry Day recognises the pain, grief and loss experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as a result of government policies that forcibly removed children from their families, communities, cultures and Country.
We invite our school community to pause, listen and learn through the powerful story of Aunty Eva-Jo Edwards, a proud Bunurong, Mutti Mutti and Yorta Yorta woman and Stolen Generations survivor. Her story reminds us of the importance of truth-telling, understanding and working together towards healing and reconciliation.
As we mark National Sorry Day, may we continue to listen deeply, learn respectfully and strengthen our commitment to reconciliation.

CAMP || DAY 3
As our camp adventure comes to an end, we are incredibly proud of our students for the way they embraced new experiences, stepped outside their comfort zones, built friendships and challenged themselves over the past few days. Camp has provided opportunities for growth, connection, and the creation of memories that will stay with us well beyond these three days.
A sincere thank you to our staff who gave their time, energy, care and support to make this experience possible. School camps are only successful because of the commitment and dedication of staff who go above and beyond to create meaningful opportunities for our students.
To our students, you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. We certainly are!
