The National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health is hosting a National Research Symposium in May.
The Symposium will be
- Online
- From 10am AEST
- On Wednesday 13 May
It will:
- Bring together researchers from across Australia who want to improve the health of people with intellectual disability
- Be a place to connect and share ideas
- Give attendees an opportunity to be part of an ongoing National Research Network.
The Symposium is for:
- Researchers and academics
- Lived-experience researchers and project workers
- Policy makers and government agencies

โจ On Friday 20 March, we came together for a special morning tea in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day.
This yearโs theme, โTogether Against Loneliness,โ reminded us of the power of connection, inclusion, and community.
We are so grateful for everyone who joined us and helped make the morning meaningful and full of heart. ๐

Yesterday our very own research assistant Catrin Culla and director Dr Cathy Franklin did a fantastic job hosting the DSMIG AUS (Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group โ Australia) Scientific Meeting, Down Syndrome Across the Lifespan. It was a successful day of learning and connection!
Thank you to everyone who joined us in person and online, and a big thank you to all the presenters who shared their knowledge - weโre so grateful you could be part of it.

Yesterday, some of our team joined a key meeting for a collaborative research project developing a dental healthcare program for children and young adults with intellectual disability ๐ฆท๐
We are proud to contribute to research that supports better oral health, better access, and better outcomes for this community.
