A little food for thought this Monday morning…

We often use “what if?” to imagine the endings we fear.
What if it goes wrong?
What if I fail?
What if I make the wrong decision?

And sometimes a different kind of “what if” can gently interrupt us. Not to cause us worry, but to offer perspective.

What if the life we are trying so hard to perfect was also meant to be lived?
What if joy, connection, rest, laughter, meaning, and presence mattered more than we realise while we’re busy rushing through our days?
What if the small things we criticise about ourselves were never the things that truly mattered?

What if we could use these kinds of questions not to pressure ourselves, but to take a moment to pause and reflect.

And if we realise we’re not living in a way that aligns with who we really are or how we want to experience life, perhaps the next step doesn’t need to be huge.

Maybe it’s simply asking:
What is one small step I can take to better support myself, my wellbeing, and the life I want to be living?🤔✨💛

Which one lands with you today?

Self-compassion is not weakness, indulgence, or letting ourselves off the hook. It is the capacity to meet ourselves with care, honesty, and support in moments of difficulty.

For many of us, that doesn’t come naturally. We’ve learned to push, judge, criticise, or abandon ourselves when things feel hard.

As you read through these phrases, notice what happens in your body. Some may feel supportive or comforting. Others may feel tender, uncomfortable, or difficult to receive. That’s okay too.

Rather than choosing the one you think you should feel, notice which one feels most meaningful for you today. You do not have to fully believe it. Just notice what happens when you gently let the words in.

If one stands out, you might place a hand on your heart, or one hand on your heart and one on your belly, and softly repeat the phrase to yourself.

Take a slow breath in.
And a long, slow breath out.

Allow the words to land in whatever way they can today. 💛
