Running Pink In Western Australia alone there are around 4,000 cases of physical abuse, sexual abuse and neglect of children reported to police each year.

The Western Australian Child Abuse Squad investigate a large percentage of sexual offences committed against children. In 2013 they charged over 200 offenders for these offences. In March 2015 I am aiming to run the Bibbulmun Track end to end from Albany to Perth encompassing 1000km of off road trails. I want to achieve this goal in 20 consecutive days, self-supported and my goal is to raise $50,000 for the Australian Childhood Association (ACF). The Australian Childhood Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children and families devastated by abuse, family violence and neglect. They provide a range of services including specialist counselling services for children, training to foster carers to better support and care for traumatised children, providing education to communities where children are at risk and they also run child abuse prevention programs and are involved in the research of child abuse and identifying constructive solutions. I figure that 20 days of pain is nothing compared to what some children and their families suffer on a daily basis and through no fault of their own. Please help me by supporting this worthwhile cause and help stop the abuse and neglect of innocent children. For all enquiries please contact Kylie at [email protected]

Wow it’s been a very long time since I’ve been on here. Not much has changed in the running department. Still been running (although not as often as I’d like some weeks) and had a few amazing runs overseas in the meantime.

I’m posting on here today to support my husband’s fundraising cause which is in memory of Aimee, our beautiful work colleague and friend we lost earlier this year.

Myself, my husband and a work colleague will be competing in Birdys Backyard Ultra at Lake Towerrinning starting Friday 2nd August. This format is a 6.7km loop you run on the hour every hour until the last one standing!

We are fundraising for Down syndrome WA and Soldiers and Sirens.

I know times are tough but every bit helps so if you can donate please click on the link below.

We will keep you updated with how we go.

Thanks so much 🩷

Well I ran my last event for this year on the weekend, The Feral Ultra (Wild Swine 100km).
I feel very lucky to live in WA and still been able to participate in great events this year.
This was a tough run for me. It ended up being 106km and I found the hot weather conditions (and flies) very challenging. I couldn’t take hardly any calories in except for a handful of chips and some coke to get me through the last 7 hours. I may have even called Chris B Elly in the middle of the night to wake him up and whinge that I was going to be out all night. At one point I was stood up by a growling mum kangaroo who was in the middle of the track and wouldn’t let me pass. I didn’t have the energy to have a possible fight with it so had to climb up an embankment to go around 😂.
Definitely a brutal but beautiful course on the Bibbulmun track, very well run as usual by USWA with fantastic organisers and volunteers and met some awesome people out there too.
Finished up in 19hrs 30mins.
Been a full on few months so looking forward to putting my feet up for at least a week or so 😂

Margaret River Ultra completed.
Around 12hours, 18 minutes on a pretty tough course. A lot more soft sand and hotter conditions than what I’m used to. I must admit that I probably didn’t give this course the respect it deserves. I just thought well it’s only 80km so that’s easy enough. A few lessons learnt 😂 Just because the distances is a little less doesn’t mean it won’t hurt! Still a beautiful course and very well run by Rapid Ascent 💕

Race day tomorrow, woohoo.
Margaret River Ultra Marathon (80km).
Looking forward to the beautiful scenery down here and the finish line at the Cheeky Monkey Brewery 💕
For those interested my race number is 205 and there is live tracking (see attached photos with instructions. I won’t turn it on until after the first 10km to try and save some battery power).
Hope to get some scenery photos too.
Have a great weekend x

Decided to go to Pemberton to get some sand training in.
Went out to the Yeagarup sand dunes, which is about 30km out from Pemberton. They rise about 40 metres up from the forest. According to the internet these dunes are the largest land-locked mobile dune system in the Southern Hemisphere. Normal people go four wheel driving here. I decided to spend 3 hours running over them 😂.
