Our Yr 5 students had a great time playing with all the new sports equipment today that they won by having the highest percentage of active travellers last week. Who will win this week? You need to beat 42% of the class to beat Yr 5. Let’s start planning to walk, ride or car pool to school this Friday.
You’ve probably heard of ‘Park and Ride’, but what about ‘Park and Stride’?
Our Active School Travel program encourages students to walk, cycle, scoot, car pool and catch public transport to and from school, but some parents still need to drive their children to school as part of their journey to work or other activities. Or you may live a long distance from the school and can’t actively travel all the way from home.
Even though you might need to drive to school, you can still participate in our Active School Travel program by walking or riding PART of the way. Use our Active Travel map to find your Park and Stride starting point. A good option is the Scout Hall or Einbunpin lagoon.
Park and Stride allows everyone to be part of Sacred Heart's Active School Travel and is one of the easiest ways to incorporate physical activity into everyday life for all children.
Even walking or riding a short way sets the pathway for a healthy, active lifestyle.
