Meet Aurora, Taraa, and Ako - hardworking local early learning educators.

Aurora has been a committed educator for 18 years. She loves coming to work every day and cares deeply about our community!

Thank you to all our early childhood educators for making sure our youngest community members get a strong start in life.

Celebrating 18 incredible years of Aurora!

Today we celebrate a very special member of our Sandgate Kids family Miss Aurora, who has dedicated an amazing 18 years to our centre and the Sandgate community. ❤️

Over the years, Aurora has made a truly lasting impact on hundreds of children and families, providing care, guidance, love and support through some of the most important years of a child’s life.

Aurora is a true pillar of quality education and care. Her dedication, kindness, patience and incredible work ethic shine through every day, and her contribution to our centre is something we are incredibly grateful for.

For 18 years, she has watched children grow, supported families, created beautiful memories and helped shape the early years of so many children in our community.
Aurora, thank you for your unwavering dedication, your caring heart and everything you have given to Sandgate Kids. We are so lucky to have you as part of our team and so proud to celebrate this incredible milestone with you!

National Reconciliation Week 2026 has been running this week, from 27 May to 3 June.

This year’s theme, All In, is a call for all Australians to step away from the sidelines, act for change, and commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day.

Across our three centres, we recognise this week as an opportunity to continue creating space for children to learn, listen and build respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and continuing connection to Country.

We know that stories, conversations and everyday learning in early childhood matter. We’re proud to play a part in helping children grow with respect, curiosity and care.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums, grandmothers, carers, and special women in our Sandgate Kids community across Brighton Road, Nash Street, and C&K.

We loved each of the celebrations with you all across the centers. We celebrate you and all the love, care, patience, and joy you bring to your families every day. On behalf of all our staff and committee, we hope you enjoy a beautiful day filled with the things you love most.

Our children and educators have had so much fun creating special artwork and surprises, and we hope you enjoy opening each thoughtful gift made with so much love.

Another AGM has been and gone, and we are thrilled to officially welcome our 2026 Management Committee!

A huge thank you to Councillor Jared Cassidy for his ongoing support as our Association Patron and for acting as our Returning Officer for the evening. We value your advocacy for our families and your dedication to the Sandgate community.

Our returning President, Rowan, and the newly elected committee are energised and ready for the year ahead. With our major playground redevelopments about to break ground and our new governance framework in place, we are looking forward to another year of providing high-quality, community-led early education for our families.

Thank you to everyone who attended: your support ensures Sandgate Kids remains a strong, parent-led association.

The AGM saw a few people leave their positions and new faces come on board to help guide Sandgate Kids into the future.

Running childcare and Kindy across Brighton Road and Nash Street sites, Sandgate Kids do an amazing job, providing care and education to our community. There will be lots of improvements over both sites in the coming year with new playgrounds.

I’m proud to continue on as Patron of Sandgate Kids once again 🙏
