🐶📚 BOOK WEEK HAS GONE TO THE DOGS! 📚🐶
This Friday, The Hungry Owl is becoming The Hungry Story Dog for one day only! 🐾
Tam and the crew have put together a ridiculously fun Book Week special menu, inspired by some of our favourite four-legged literary legends. 🌭🧁☕️
🚨 IMPORTANT FRIDAY INFO:
The normal tuckshop menu will NOT be available this Friday - it’s Story Dog specials only! Items are capped, so jump onto QKR! and order early if there’s something your little bookworm has their eye on.
And speaking of Tam and the crew...

Come sling some Story Dogs, pack some orders and help Tam survive what is shaping up to be a VERY busy Friday. No experience required - the tuckshop crew will show you the ropes.

Parent Wellbeing and Information sessions
Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us for two wellbeing sessions on Tuesday 15th September. Chappy Joss will be running a relaxing wellbeing session with fun activities for parents/carers and their children from 7:30–8:30am, followed by a parent/carer information session: Supporting Your Child with Building Resilience & Conflict Resolution from 8:50–9:30am in the Tuckshop area. The second session will be facilitated by our Guidance Officer Olivia, Chappy Joss and Social Worker Becca where we shall explore practical, child-friendly strategies to support children to build resilience, manage emotions, communicate their needs and navigate conflict and disagreements. Parents are welcome to attend either session or join us for both! We’d love to see you there!

We recently had Claudia from Ferny Grove State High School, and coaches from Samford Stags visit our school for Over 8s Day. They ran a range of rugby league skills and drills, with many of our students getting involved and enjoying the activities.
Following on from this, they are holding a Girls Rugby League and Touch Rugby League Clinic on Thursday 27 August from 5:00–6:00pm.
The clinic is open to girls in Years 4–6 who may be interested in trying rugby league or touch rugby league and developing their skills. If your child is interested in attending, please see the attached flyer for further information.

Our Book Week Parade is nearly here, and excitement is building across the school! We're gearing up for an explosion of colour, creativity and character magic as students step out in their brightest, most imaginative costumes.
Families are invited to join the fun as we cheer on our young readers and enjoy the magic of books brought to life. Our assembly will begin at 9:00am at the hall, with students parading through the school immediately after to show off their wonderful costumes.
It's sure to be the highlight of our Book Week celebrations - a morning full of fun, creativity and storytelling. We're counting down the minutes!

Our Book Week celebrations are in full swing, with a wonderful range of activities happening across the school all week. Each day, students can join in our lunchtime library sessions and dive into the joy of reading, stories and imagination.
We're especially excited to see the creative costumes at tomorrow's parade. Then on Thursday, students will enjoy a special Book week incursion that's sure to inspire and entertain.
It's shaping up to be a fantastic week of celebrating books and the magic they bring to our students.

Have a little time to spare on a Friday morning? Our Hungry Owl Tuckshop would LOVE an extra set of hands! 🙌
Tam and the crew have somehow mastered the art of getting a ridiculous number of lunches out the door while still finding time for a laugh, a chat and (most importantly) coffee.
No tuckshop experience required. No MasterChef audition necessary. Just sign up, turn up, lend a hand and enjoy one of the most fun little corners of our school community.

Our Early Act Club run by Chappy Joss, will be holding a market stall tomorrow to raise money for The Smith Foundation. The stall will run before school, and during first break, with items ranging from 50c to $5. Thank you for supporting our Early Act Club and The Smith Foundation.

P&C MEETING UPDATE

The P&C meeting scheduled for Monday 24 August has been cancelled. With no pressing agenda items this month, the executive committee are giving everyone the night back.
