A huge thank you to Wattyl for their constant support and generosity in delivering paint yesterday morning to assist our Skilling Queenslanders for Work Certificate I in Construction participants. Your ongoing commitment helps create real opportunities for our students to gain hands-on experience while making a positive impact in the community.
Delivered through The Skill Up 4 Conservation program, this initiative provides direct community benefit through its partnership with Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, which, along with Garima Conservation Reserve, is proudly owned and managed by the National Trust of Australia (Queensland).
Weโre proud to see industry, education, and conservation working together to create meaningful outcomes for both students and the community.
This Skilling Queenslanders for Work project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government.

Celebrating the First WetTrade Apprenticeships GTO Sign-Ups in South Australia!
On Wednesday morning, prior to our official NICS and WTA GTO launch in South Australia, we were proud to welcome the first two apprentices signed up through WetTrade Apprenticeships GTO in South Australia.
These two apprentices are also the first apprentices to enter the Industry Accelerated Apprenticeship Pilot, marking an important milestone for WTA, NICS and South Australiaโs wet trades industry.
We are proud to be working alongside the Skills Commission in supporting the IAAP model, ensuring it strengthens, rather than diminishes, our valued painting trade. This model provides a supported pathway for apprentices while helping build the skilled workforce needed by industry.
These first sign-ups represent the beginning of two new apprenticeship journeys and an important step in strengthening the pipeline of skilled workers for the painting and decorating sector.
A sincere thank you to Cameron Baker, SA Skills Commissioner, for supporting this milestone for apprenticeships, training and industry-led workforce development in South Australia.
Congratulations to our first two WTA GTO apprentices in South Australia. We look forward to seeing your skills, confidence and careers grow.
