✨ CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW BLACK BELTS ✨
Four students. Completely different ages, journeys, and stages of life—yet all standing together having achieved the incredible rank of Black Belt in both Kukkiwon and Changmookwan.
This is what inspiration looks like.
At 73 years young, Nonno has achieved his 2nd Dan Black Belt Kukkiwon and 3rd Dan Black Belt Changmookwan—an extraordinary accomplishment. Nonno proves that there is no “right age” to grow, to set new goals, or to chase excellence. In his second stage of life, he reminds us all that the only limits that exist are the ones we place on ourselves. What an example. What a legacy.
Miss Lala, Miss Steph, and Miss Kacee have each earned their 1st Dan Black Belt Kukkiwon and 2nd Dan Black Belt Changmookwan. This milestone reflects years of discipline, perseverance, humility, and relentless effort. You’ve shown what it means to stay committed, even when the journey is challenging.
We are deeply honoured and incredibly proud of all of you. This achievement is not only personal—it is a reflection of your commitment to our team and to the values we strive to build every day. Black Belt is not just a rank; it represents honour, discipline, and character.
Our hope is that these values continue to be passed down through generations. If we build it right, we won’t just develop strong martial artists—we will help shape honourable fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, teachers… and leaders.
Martial arts provides more than physical skill. It offers a code of conduct, a path to self-development, and the tools needed to pursue goals with integrity. Over time, character is formed—and people step closer to becoming their best selves.
Well done, team.
What an achievement. 🥋🔥
You’ve made us all incredibly proud

Strength and conditioning is a vital component of athletic development because it enhances an athlete’s ability to perform, recover, and stay healthy. A well-designed strength and conditioning program improves muscular strength, power, speed, endurance, and mobility, all of which directly translate to better performance in sport-specific skills. It also plays a key role in injury prevention by strengthening muscles, tendons, and joints, improving movement mechanics, and correcting imbalances. Additionally, proper conditioning supports faster recovery, greater resilience to physical demands, and long-term athletic longevity, allowing athletes to train harder, compete at a higher level, and sustain peak performance over time.
ATTENTION ALL GSA ATHLETES: The month of February sees our face to face Strength & Conditioning sessions start for 2026. You will have received an email allocating you to your S&C group which is based on your residential address; all the scheduled dates for S&C for the year; along with all relevant information pertaining to this integral part of your program. Please note that reminder emails will NOT be sent for each session - it is your responsibility to diarise these dates. All sessions are in the COACHA app and you must record any absences via COACHA which help your S&C and sports coaches to plan sessions around attendance and also follow up on athlete injury and illness if need be. Unless you are notified by the GSA office of a reschedule or cancellation, all sessions will proceed as per the scheduled dates. East Gippsland Shire Council McLeod Taekwondo Control High Performance

Which Class Is for Me 🤔
🥋 Taekwondo: Known as Tae Kwon Do—“Tae” (foot), “Kwon” (hand), “Do” (way or discipline)—this Korean martial art has been practised for over 2,000 years and in 206 countries. Its known for its routes as the art of self defence. There are different styles of Taekwondo and over the years there has been emphasis placed on its style of kicking using flexibility, speed and combinations. However, It’s more than fighting skills: it builds strength, discipline, leadership, and confidence. Start as a white belt, train alongside friends, and push your limits through perseverance. Each belt earned is a milestone, and an opportunity to grow your capacity. Taekwondo places a large emphasis on leadership through serving and honouring a chain of command. Through respect and discipline by black belt, you’ve achieved a goal, built lifelong friendships and developed skills for life.
🥊 Muay Thai: Known as the “Art of Eight Limbs”, Muay Thai uses fists, elbows, knees, and shins with clinching techniques for a full-body, powerful workout. Perfect for kids and adults who want fitness, confidence, and smart training—without the pressure of belts. This is a tough work out but it is for everyone!
💪 Martial arts isn’t just sport—it’s strength, skill, and community.

✨ An Inspiring Journey Worth Hearing ✨
Meet Kacee — a mum of three who proved that determination can outwork even the busiest life. Between family, work, and all the commitments that come with both, she stayed the course and earned her Black Belt.
There were challenges. There were sacrifices. There were moments when quitting would’ve been easier — but she kept showing up.
If you’ve ever thought “I don’t have time” or “maybe one day”, Kacee’s journey will remind you that progress is possible, no matter how full your plate is.
🎧 Take a moment to listen to her story — it might just inspire you to start (or keep going).
Well done, Kacee. Your hard work, resilience, and belief in yourself are truly inspiring. 🥋💪
